My Education

I would like to attend college so that I can receive an education that will
help me pursue my career. I have always been told all of my life that an
education is one of the most important things I can give to myself because
of the opportunities that an education can provide for me. It is for this
reason that I look forward to attending NAU and the education that I will
receive. I have been accepted into the NAU nursing program. I have decided
to major in nursing because I consider myself a caring person and I like to
help people. We have all needed to seek medical attention at one time or
another. I have always been thankful for the medical personnel who have
helped my family and myself whenever we have needed them. I love sports and
I have been playing hockey for 12 years. I have seen many teammates who have
experienced a medical problem or suffered an injury that required medical
attention, sometimes requiring hospitalization or even physical therapy. I
would like to be a member of the healthcare profession because I would like
to help those in need of medical attention . I would like to be a member of
a medical team that helps bring people`s health back to them or helps them
recover from an injury they have sustained. I like to see people get better
and it would be a good feeling to know that I helped them get there. It is
my hope that I would be able to pursue this in a nursing career. Family is
most important to me. I think that nursing would also give me the
opportunity to help my parents in the future if necessary. I remember
whenever I saw my grandmother, my mom would take care of her when she was
sick. I hope to be able to show this care to my parents. I am biracial, so
when I saw Barack Obama take his oath to become the President of the United
States, it was a big deal to me. Seeing him accomplish that great feat that
he worked so hard for and believed so strongly in makes me believe I can do
anything that I put my mind to and that anything is possible.
